Back in the Studio

March 6, 2004

We just returned from our first recording session since the "Sieze" CD sessions. We went to Greg Norman's home studio on Chicago's south side to do three demo tracks. We recorded "Gatefold Mouths", "Crater", and "Foundations". Results will be up on the music page shortly.

NO Show - Friday 20th, 2004

February 20, 2004

We'd been asked to play a last-minute show by the Repos on Friday 20th, 2004 @ Wabash Tap w/FOURTH ROTOR, THE REPOS, FUTURE LEADERS, MORAL DECAY.

We went down there, and realized it really was really, really lame. It was so last minute, that noone knew were we supposed to play anyway. So, we didn't. Instead, we hung out, and the Repos were great, for all 9.5 minutes that they played, with us and about 5 other pepople watching.

West Coast Tour '04 on, Alaska delayed

February 16, 2004

As reported here previously, we're booking tours for 2004. We were originally planning on going to the West Coast U.S. in late April, continuing up to Alaska for a week, then across western Canada towards home. However, we've had to adjust our plans slightly due to some scheduling conflicts. We're now STILL going to the West Coast U.S., and up into BC, Canada. The Alaska portion, and western Canada shows have been delayed until September of 2004. ...This is a letdown to us, as we've been imagining ourselves cruising around Alaska and having having North North American wilderness adventures. But, it had to be done. Why September? well, its after the Alaska tourist season, and before the weather gets nasty. Also, I think the swarms of mosquitos will be dead by then.

In the future, all this kind of tour info will be summarized on our new Tours page.

LP of "Seize"

January 14, 2004

It's getting close to that time... the release of our record "Seize" as a 12" vinyl LP. A few months ago, our good friend, Matt Weeks, of Council Records and the band Calvary, approached us and offered to put out the LP version of our CD. "Zang!" thought we, and gladly accepted his gracious offer...... Council Records is a great label that shares a lot of our values: they do what they do 'cause they like to do it, and aren't looking for validation on record sales or fame. They're putting it out because they like the record / band, and that's enough of a reason. The LP version will be exactly the same as the CD: same songs, in the same order, same liner notes, but in nice big 12"s. The printing looks great, with a nice matte finish, and it really makes the artwork look sharp. We'd always wanted to release it on vinyl too, but time & money just didn't cooperate to let us do it. Now, it's finally going to happen. The covers and the inserts are already done, and we're awaiting the vinyl soon. Drop by here, or Council Records site for news. We will be emailing the mailing list as well. Hooray.

Alaska

January 10, 2004

We're beginning to plan a tour for late April through the end of May the will take us to Alaska! Yeah, I know, it's nuts. But we're going to do it. Inspired by THIS BIKE IS A PIPE BOMB touring there last fall, we're going to try to do it to... ... The route will be the following: tour to sourthern California, starting mid April, then head up West Coast U.S. for two weeks, ending in Washington. We'll get us, and the van, on a ferry in Bellingham, and sail up the west coast of Canada for five days until we reach Anchorage. Once there, we'll tour for hopefully a week, then drive back along the Alaskan Highway (the AlCan) through Yukon, British Columbia, and towards Edmonton, Alberta. We'll then play western Canada shows headed towards home, probably hitting Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnepeg before going through Minnesota to Chicago. As always, ANY help that anyone can provide, please email us right away. Thanks!

Back in communication, in Alaska

November 30, -0001

After a long run of travelling, we are in Anchorage Alaska, at the home of Jen and Myk of STUNTCOCK. It has been a great journey from Bellingham, with 4 days on the ferry to Skagway, AK, then the drive to Whitehorse, Yukon, and then into and across Alaska, camping all the way. There are too many stories for us to tell right now, but we'll get them up soon, along with some pictures in the next couple of days.

Back in communication...

We are in Anchorage at last. Since last post, we've traveled for 4 days on the ferry from Bellingham WA to Skagway, AK, driven to Whitehorse Yukon, then made our way across the Yukon and Alaska to Anchorage, camping al the way. Yukon and Alaska are totally incredibly huge, beautiful, and remote. We'll be playing our first show in about a week tomorrow in Anchorage. We'll tell some of our travel stories later, but now we're fried from travel, and are relaxing at Myk of STUNTCOCK's house. Picture will be posted soon.
